"The Woman in Red
Stripes” is my new series of representational acrylic paintings and monotype
prints of serene female figures. The objects in the paintings, whether a
glass of iced tea, my pet dog, a rippling swimming pool or a Japanese umbrella,
are part of their restful haven. The women, clad in their red striped bathing
suits are ready to take a plunge, but look upon their world in a calm and
reflective manner. This in turn reflects upon the viewer.
